Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu
Welcome to Nepal! You will finish all the arrival formalities at the Kathmandu Airport. Afterward, representatives from Sabbatical Explore Nepal will welcome you with a garland. Then we will transfer you to the hotel and leave you there for some rest. Later in the dusk, we’ll invite you for a welcome dinner. You will get to meet the entire expedition team here. Day 2: Trip Preparation and Sightseeing in Kathmandu
While our team begins trip arrangements, we’ll take a tour around the historical city of Kathmandu. We’ll explore the famous sites that are enlisted as UNESCO heritage sites. Likes of Pashupatinath Temple, Kathmandu Durbar Square, Bouddhanath Stupa, and Swaymbhunath Stupa will be on the list. It will be a busy tour day in Kathmandu, where we will encounter the historical and cultural madness of the city. Overnight in Kathmandu.
Day 3: Drive from Kathmandu to Dharapani(1,960m)| 11-12hrs
Now it is time to start Pisang Peak Climbing’s journey. We’ll head to the west from Kathmandu on a winding highway. It will be a long drive of 11 to 12 hours to Dharapani, the starting point of the trek. Along the drive, we’ll come across Nepal’s beautiful and raw countryside. To reach Dharapani, we’ll cross Pokhara, a city full of tourists. And we’ll arrive in Dharapani all exhausted. We’ll settle in a teahouse in Dharapani.
Day 4: Trek from Dharapani to Chame(2,650m)| 5-6hrs
We’ll now move towards Chame; after a night full of sleep in Dharapani, we’ll now move towards Chame. The trail ahead is a landslide-prone area, and we’ll see some affected areas. Crossing the side, we’ll reach Bagarchhap. Then we’ll walk through a forest of rhododendrons to get to the river beds of the Marshyangdi River. The river will guide us to Koto Village, the entrance to Nar Phu Valley. We’ll then walk on a short trail to reach Chame. Overnight in Chame.
Day 5: Trek from Chame to Upper Pisang(3,300m)| 5-6hrs
We’ll leave Chame behind by moving towards Bharatang. At Baratang, we’ll come across the Marshyangdi River to cross it once again. Then we take an ascending trail to Dhikur Pokhari. Next, we’ll ramble via a lively coniferous forest and a small village to reach Upper Pisang. Pisang is a village right below Pisang Peak and offers enchanting views of Annapurna II and Pisang Peak. Day 6: Acclimatization day at Upper Pisang
The sixth day of the Pisang Peak Climbing itinerary is an acclimatization day at Upper Pisang. It is a day to slow things down and get comfortable with the altitudes. To do that, we’ll hike around Upper Pisang and rehearse climbing at a nearby spot. We’ll return to the village to explore its cultural side following the climbing training. We’ll have a panoramic evening in Upper Pisang.
Day 7: Trek to Pisang Peak Base Camp(4,380m)| 3-4hrs
We’ll leave Pisang village for Pisang Peak Base Camp in the morning. The trek will happen through a thin forest to Kharka, a scenic pasture land. While walking on the grassy pasture land, we’ll have opportunities to capture the scenery. The Peak’s Base Camp is right next to the pasture land. We’ll find the right place to install a camp in the zone. Overnight in Pisang Peak Base Camp.
Day 8: Climb to High Camp(5,400m)| 3-4hrs
The climb will get stepper from here as we leave the base camp for high camp. We will also have considerable elevation gain today. The trail leads through a narrow track to the mountain’s southwest ridge. We will reach High Camp to install our camp and train before the climb tomorrow. Overnight in Pisang Peak High Camp.
Day 9: Summit Day(6,091m) and Back to Base Camp| 8-9hrs
The big day is here. To commence the big day, we’ll move early in the morning. The climb will start from a rough, steep section. We’ll use ropes to climb onto a ridge and then climb Pisang Peak’s summit. This section can feel a bit technical and demands some climbing skills. Yet, the fixed rope will help us scale the top, and the rest is a celebration. You will be on the top of Pisang Peak to enjoy glorious views of the surrounding mountains and hills. After some moments of glory, we’ll gradually descend back to Pisang Peak Base Camp. Overnight in the base camp.
Day 10: Contingency Day
It is a contingency day for any unforeseen events like bad weather. If we have lovely weather on the summit day, we will not use it and vice versa.
Day 11: Trek to Manang Valley(3,519m)| 5-6hrs
Now we’ll leave Pisang Peak Base Camp to reach Pisang Village. We’ll choose a path to Manang Valley from the village, our next destination. Through Geru, our trek will move ahead along with views of Annapurna, Pisang, and other peaks. Shortly, we’ll enter the dry valley of Manang. The semi-deserted landscapes of the valley are famous worldwide. Overnight in Manang.
Day 12: Trek to Yak Kharka(4,110m)| 3-4hrs
We’ll leave for Yak Kharka via a steep hill to Tenki Village from Manang village. In some distance, we’ll trek through the dense vegetation of the Marshyangdi Valley. A few pastures will also come along before Ghunsa village. We’ll pause there for lunch. Next, the trail continues via grassy meadows and the old Mani wall to Yak Kharka. Overnight in Yak Kharka.
Day 13: Trek to Thorong Phedi(4,420m)| 3-4hrs
We are already on the trail of Annapurna Circuit Trek. And we are moving to the trek’s major highlights, Thorang Phedi to Thorong La Pass. It will be an uphill trek to Thorang Phedi via Ledar Village. The climb of a couple of more cliffs, and we reach Thorong La, the base camp of Thorong La Pass. Overnight in Thorong Phedi.
Day 14: Trek to Muktinath(3,750m) via Thorong La Pass| 9-10hrs
It is one of the best but long trekking days of the Pisang Peak Climbing itinerary. Today, we’ll climb Thorong La Pass(5,416m) and then trek to Muktinath. Indeed, it is a long day. We’ll start the trek early in the morning to catch up with time. And after some hours of an uphill climb, we’ll scale one of the highest mountain passes in the world, Thorong La Pass. The view from the top will take us to the moon, and we’ll capture these moments in our camera and mind. After the view from the top, we’ll drop drastically to the Muktinath Temple area. Overnight in Muktinath.
Day 15: Trek to Jomsom(2,743m)| 5-6hrs
We’ll wake up to the view of the most sacred temple of Nepal, Muktinath. We’ll pay a visit to the temple and area before we leave for Jomsom. The trek to Jomsom will last for 5-6hrs through the deserted but picturesque terrain of the Mustang Region. Along the route, we’ll catch Dhaulagiri in the backdrop. And we’ll reach Jomsom, one of the most popular villages in Nepal. Overnight in Jomsom.
Day 16: Morning Flight to Pokhara and Free Time in Pokhara(822m)
In the morning, we’ll board a flight to Pokhara from Jomsom. We’ll reach Pokhara in half an hour. Next, we’ll check in a hotel in Pokhara for some rest. And the rest of the day will be a free day for Pokhara’s sightseeing. Pokhara, the city of Lakes, is a perfect getaway for a day tour. Later, we’ll explore sites like Peace Stupa, Fewa Lake, David’s Fall, Bat Cave, and more. Overnight in Pokhara.
Day 17: Drive back to Kathmandu(1,400m)| 6hrs
It is time to leave Pokhara as well. We will take a 6-hour drive through a winding highway to reach Kathmandu. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, we’ll move to the hotel to rest. Later, we’ll use our free time in Kathmandu for shopping and sightseeing. Overnight in Kathmandu.
Day 18: Departure
And we will leave you at the Kathmandu Airport for your departure. Farewell!
