Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu(1400m)
Welcome to the land of Everest, Pharchamo, and many more spectacular peaks. As you land in Kathmandu at the international airport, we’ll be there to give you a warm welcome and hotel transfer. Our team will guide you to your hotel in Kathmandu. You will take some rest and relax your body. We will meet for dinner hosted by Sabbatical Explore Nepal in the evening. There we will get to know each other and about the expedition.
Day 2: Sightseeing and Preparation Day in Kathmandu
We will spend a day in Kathmandu before starting the Pharchamo Peak Climb. On this day, we will make all the arrangements for the expedition and sightseeing of Kathmandu Valley. One day is not enough for a full tour of the valley. So we will visit a couple of World heritage sites such as Pashupatinath Temple, Monkey Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, and Kathmandu Durbar Square. We will have another night in Kathmandu.
Day 3: Drive to Gongar Khola(1,350m) | 7-8hrs
The day to leave Kathmandu is here! We’ll set off for Gongar Khola from Kathmandu on a jeep drive. Racing on the smooth Araniko Highway, we’ll move ahead following Bhotekoshi and Sunkoshi river. The winding highway will bestow us great views of hills and greenery. After 7 hours of the scenic drive, we’ll reach Gongar Khola for the night’s rest.
Day 4: Trek to Simigaun(2,000m) | 4-hrs
Now the trek begins! We will leave the river-sided town in the morning for Simigaun. Our hike will happen on the banks of the Bhotekoshi River. While walking sideways, we’ll get distant sights of Mt Gauri Shankar, terraced fields, traditional hamlets, and more. We’ll come across Sherpas doing their daily things along the trail. With all of this, we’ll end up in Simigaun. Our team will set up a camp for the night Overnight in Simigaun.
Day 5: Trek to Dhongang(2,800m) | 5-6hrs
In the morning, we’ll walk to the north of Simigaon by joining an enchanting uphill path via rhododendron forest. Out of the forest, we’ll arrive in the grazing land of local cattle. Then from the pasture, we’ll start a short climb before coming down to a river-bordered trail. Shortly, we’ll reach a small hamlet of Kyalche to cross it. After the village, we’ll cross a wooden bridge to reach Dhongang in the evening. Overnight in a tented camp.
Day 6: Trek to Beding(3,790m) | 5-6hrs
We will leave the village of Dhonang in the morning for Beding. Soon we will reach the Rolwaling River to cross it. We’ll pass via forests of oak, rhododendron, and pine trees. After that, we’ll do a slight uphill trek to reach a small settlement of Nyimare. The trial ahead will continue via a terrace field of Ramding Village. From the areas of Ramding, we’ll reach Beding for the night in a tented camp.
Day 7: Trek to Na Village(4,299m) | 4-5hrs
Today, we will cross 4000m of altitude to reach Na Village. We will take a path that goes side by the side of the Rolwaling River. Throughout the day, we’ll get impressive pictures of mountains of the region and green landscapes. It will be a short and pleasing walking day to get to Na Village. Overnight at a campsite.
Day 8: Acclimatization Day in Na Village
We’ll have an acclimatization day here in Na Village before gaining any more height. The rest and acclimatization on this day will keep us safe from any kind of mountain illness. To make the day eventful, we’ll hike to nearby villages. It will be such a lovely free day around Na Village. We’ll come to our campsite in Na Village at the end of the day.
Day 9: Trek to Kabuk via Tsho Rolpa Lake(4,560m) | 5-6hrs
After an acclimatization day, we’ll be ready to take higher roads. First, we’ll try to reach Tsho Rolpa Lake, one of the biggest glacier lakes in Nepal. Crossing the river and walking on its banks, we’ll arrive in the area of terminal moraines. The distance to be covered on this day is short, so we’ll not rush. Arriving on the shores of Tsho Rolpa Lake, we’ll catch charming scenes of the lake and surrounding hills. After exploring the lake, we’ll trek a little bit to reach Kabuk to install our campsite. Overnight in Kabuk.
Day 10: Trek to Drolambu Glacier(4,800m)| 5-6hrs
We’ll eat our meal to start a big day through a glacier. It is good to start in the morning. Later, the bright sun makes it difficult to cross the glacier path. We’ll travel the glacier and head above from its eastern corner. After that, we’ll reach Trakarding Glacier’s southern edge. Crossing another glacier, we’ll reach Drolambu Glacier for the night. Overnight at a campsite.
Day 11: Trek to Tashi Cape via Tashi Lapcha Pass(5,755m)| 6-7hrs
A big day is here! Today we will cross Tashi Lapcha Pass, a major highlight of Pharchamo Peak Climb. So we will begin to trek early to cross the pass in time. The path will be an ascending one via a glaciated region. Following four hours of good walking, we’ll reach to cross the famous pass of the area. We’ll get some of the best vistas of the region from the site. After enough sightseeing, we’ll descend for a while to arrive in Tashi Cape. Overnight at a campsite.
Day 12: Rest and Practise Day in Tashi Cape
Before we begin the climb, we’ll take a day to get comfortable with the heights. We will spend a day in the base camp of Pharchamo Peak Climb. It will be a time to be mentally and physically ready for tomorrow’s push. We will do some climbing practice on the terrains of the base camp.
Day 13: Summit Pharchamo Peak(6,187m) and Back to Ngole(5,110m) | 9-10hrs
The day to attempt the climb is here! We’ll start ascending early in the morning by climbing over the snow walls of Tengi Ragi. This is where all of our hard work, patience, and skill come into play. Using everything we have and following our guides, we’ll reach the summit of Pharchamo Peak. A breathtaking view of Mt Amadablam, Thamserku, Kusum Kanguru, Cho Oyu, and Everest will await us. After enjoying the summit for some time, we’ll start descending towards Ngole. It will take around 2 hours to reach Ngole. Overnight in a tented camp.
Day 14: Contingency Day
It is a free day for any kind of complications during the expedition. In the mountains, the weather is not stable, injuries can slow us down, and we may need more time to acclimatize. That is where this contingency day included in Pharchamo Peak Climb will be helpful.
Day 15: Trek to Thame(3,800m) | 5-6hrs
From our campsite in Ngole, we will walk towards the east. At first, the trail will lower down to Thame River before descending to a village of Thengpo. This is where we will enter the Khumbu(Everest Region). While walking ahead, we’ll catch legendary mountain views of Ama Dablam and Makalu from the village. We’ll leave Thengpo behind by walking on pasture land to reach Thame. Overnight in a teahouse.
Day 16: Trek to Namche Bazaar(3,450m) | 3-4hrs
Now we’ll sail off to Namche Bazaar from Thame. It will be a comfortable walk, mostly descending, to reach Namche Bazaar. En route to Namche, we’ll pass various indigenous settlements of Sherpas. We’ll get to see the way of living of Sherpas and more. Also, we’ll pass via the lush vegetation of the region. And at the end of the trek, we’ll be in Namche Bazaar, a fantastic town in the mountains.
Day 17: Trek to Lukla(2,800m) | 5-6hrs
This will be the last trekking day of the expedition. We’ll leave Namche to arrive in Lukla. The trek will happen via a trail full of suspension bridges. En route to Lukla, we’ll also walk via the impressive woods of Sagarmatha National Park. Most of the walk will be on the banks of the Dudh Koshi River. In between, we’ll stop in Phakding for some rest before the final walk to Lukla. We will have a good time in Lukla with our team celebrating success. Overnight in Lukla.
Day 18: Fly back to Kathmandu(1,400m) | 45 minutes
In the morning, we’ll join a picturesque flight back to Kathmandu. We’ll see breathtaking panoramas of the Himalayas through windows in the air. After 45 minutes, we’ll be back in Kathmandu. We will transfer you to your hotel for much-deserved rest. Overnight in Kathmandu.
Day 19: Free Day in Kathmandu
It is a free day to celebrate the climb and enjoy being in the town. You will spend the day the way you want. Exploring the streets, foods, and culture of Kathmandu Valley would be a good option. Or you can do some shopping for your loved ones. Overnight in Kathmandu.
Day 20: Departure
If you do not want to join any other trips in Nepal, this will be the end of our time with you. We’ll leave you at Kathmandu Airport with a warm farewell. We’ll treasure the moments we had on this journey for the rest of our lives. Farewell!
