Meal: 3 main meals
Place: Mardi Himal Trail
Activity: Hiking
Max. Altitude: 3,830m

The trail goes steep uphills and above the tree line, following a scenic ridge with spectacular views of Machhapuchhre, Annapurna South, and Hiunchuli. As you reach High Camp, the panoramic Himalayan landscape becomes even more closed and breathtaking. You might be wondering why we are spending a whole day here after walking for only 2–3 hours. Let me tell you why this place is so special.

We are now at Badal Danda. The word "Badal" means cloud in both Nepali and Sanskrit, and "Danda" means hill. This hill is famous for the beautiful clouds that surround Machhapuchhre Himal (Mt. Fishtail). The clouds are always moving, creating a different view every moment. Sometimes, they even form shapes that people believe resemble Lord Shiva, giving this place a peaceful and mystical atmosphere.

Machhapuchhre Himal is one of the most sacred mountains in Nepal. Hindus believe it is the home of Lord Shiva, so climbing the mountain is strictly prohibited.
The best time to experience the magic of Badal Danda is this evening and tomorrow morning. If the weather is clear, you'll enjoy a stunning sunset, a beautiful sunrise, and breathtaking views of the Himalayas rising above the sea of clouds. It's an experience you'll never forget.

Trek Duration6 to 7 hours

Today is the highlight of the Mardi Himal Trek. If you want to enjoy the sunrise from Mardi View Point, we wake up about 2 hours before sunrise and start our early morning hike. The trail follows a narrow ridge to Mardi View Point and continues to Mardi Himal Base Camp, where you will be rewarded with spectacular views of Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, and the Annapurna range more closely.

If you do not wish to hike to the View Point or Mardi Himal Base Camp, you can stay at the teahouse, enjoy the sunrise from there, and have breakfast while waiting for the rest of the group to return. Another option is to hike to the View Point for sunrise, return to the teahouse for breakfast. Once everyone is back, we begin our descent to Low Camp. Today's walk is longer than on the previous days, but the beautiful scenery makes the journey enjoyable.
