The combined Everest Base Camp via Gokyo Lakes itinerary is one to remember for challenging and adventurous treks in Nepal. It is an 18-day adventure that lets you explore the classic Everest Base Camp side and the unfrequented Gokyo Valley. However, to do this trek, you need to be in great shape and physique. FAQ's
How difficult is the Gokyo Lake Trek?
There is no climbing section while trekking, so you don’t need any type of climbing equipment or previous trekking experience. In Between the trek, you will walk through the rugged and rocky trail. You will gradually follow the cliff route from Lukla to Gokyo Ri, not every time you will walk on the cliff some time the path will be wide and flat. While descending back it is easy. If your ankle is weak, be careful while backtracking the route. The Nzogumpa glacier is a little tricky so wisely cross the messy and challenging ground.
How fit do I need to be to do Gokyo Lake Trek?
Your basic level of fitness is required for this 15 days trek. Per day you will trek for 4-7 hours and it is easy. To avoid altitude sickness don’t rush while trekking to the high altitude try to go slowly. Rather to make your Physic super-fit it’s better to make your mind super fit because last year, a 7 years old western kid made a Guinness world record by being the youngest trekker to the Everest Base Camp.
Do I need to purchase travel insurance?
Yes, every trip goes smoothly but who knows what is next. We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance which covers up to 5000m height.
What if I am a solo traveler? Is there a supplement for singles?
No worries, many trekkers are trekking solo, but if you want someone to be with you for security or if you want to trek without any fears then join a small group or other solo trekkers. Yes, we have a single supplemental cost for individual trekkers, please contact us to know more.
