Day 2: Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing

Kathmandu Sightseeing is a must when in the city of temples and architecture. Following our breakfast, we will step out to explore the historically important UNESCO-listed heritage sites. Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, Monkey Temple, and Kathmandu Durbar Square will be visited by us on the day. After a delightful sightseeing day, you will return to your hotel for the night.

Day 3: Fly to Dhangadhi and Visit a Tharu Village

We will leave Kathmandu’s bustling crowd by flying into the clouds. In 1 hour of flight time to Dhangadi, we will see breathtaking views of the Himalayas, Hills, and Plainlands. Then we will land in the Dhangadhi Airport and drive to our hotel in the biggest city of Farwest Nepal. After refreshments and lunch, we will visit a Tharu village for cultural dance and lifestyle exposure. Overnight in Dhangadhi.

Day 4: Drive from Dhangadhi to Jhingrana(2,300m) | 7-8hrs

Now set off for Khaptad. We will join a jeep/bus drive of 7-8 hours to Jhingrana, the starting point of the Khaptad National Park Trek. Over the hours, we will traverse a highway that winds via green woods, small marketplaces, and villages. Around the evening, we will reach Jhingrana through places like Dadeldhura, Doti, Dipayal, and Silgadi. Next, we will enter a hotel in Jhingrana to get rest for our bodies after such a long drive. Overnight in Jhingrana.

Day 5: Trek from Jhingrana to Bichpani(2,905m) | 5-6hrs

Through the entrance of Khaptad National Park, we will officially start the trek. We will head into the lush vegetation of the park to move ahead. In a while, a steep uphill walk starts via a forest of Oak, Hemlock, Fir, and other trees. We will keep pushing ourselves over the steep hill. On the other hand, we will get adjoining and distant hill views. And finally, after 5-6 hours of the steep trek, we will reach Bichpani Camp, where we will call it a day.

Day 6: Trek from Bichpani Camp to Khaptad National Park(3,020m) | 3hrs

We will have our breakfast in Bichpani Camp before leaving it behind. The trek will continue through the green woods. In between, we will see mountains like Api, and Saipal in the backdrop. After several hours of trekking, we will finally touch the plain meadows of Khaptad, for which the journey is most popular. Walking past the many fields and streams, we will reach Khaptad National Park’s campsite. We will explore the area with nothing but plain pastures with horses grazing on in the evening. Overnight at a lodge/camping tent in Khaptad.

Day 7: Explore Khaptad

It is one of the first days to explore the Khaptad area in the Khaptad National Park Trek. Many things are worth visiting in the place, so we will have two days in the area. We will start with a tour of Khaptad Daha(Lake), a 2 hours away hike from the Khaptad’s Campsite area. After the lake, we will retrace back for lunch. Next, we will walk to Khaptad Baba Ashram, a place where the Khaptad Baba lived, mediated, and healed. We will explore his site thoroughly before returning to our camp area.

Day 8: Explore Khaptad

It will be an extra day to explore the vast Khaptad Area. We will visit places like Tribeni(Confluence) Temple, Sahastralinga, Nagdhunga, and Ghodepatan. Thus, we will spend the whole day around the beautiful meadows of Khaptad. Following the day’s visits, we will retrace to our campsite for the night.

Day 9: Trek back to Jhingrana | 7hrs

Now we shall return to Jhingrana. We will use the same incoming trail of lush woods to return to Jhingrana. However, we will enjoy the trek this time as we will have no hard steep sections to do. The peaceful and descending walk of 7 hrs will bring us back to the place where it all begins, Jhingrana. Overnight in Jhingrana.

Day 10: Drive to Dhangadi| 7-8hrs

We will leave Jhingrana on a bus/jeep back to Dhangadhi. The drive will happen on the same highway. And in the evening, we will be in Dhangadi at our hotel. We will explore the city area for some food and drinks if we wish to do so. Overnight in Dhangadhi.

Day 11: Fly back to Kathmandu | 1hr

We shall reach Dhangadhi Airport for the flight to Kathmandu. It will take 1 hour to get to the city of the hustle and bustle. Upon our return, we will return to our hotel for rest before evening exploration of the city. Overnight in Kathmandu.
