Khopra Dhanda Trek, also known as Khopra Ridged Trek is the less traveled trails. The trek is moderate, off-track adventurous journey. Its also an alternate to more popular treks in Annapurna Region. You'll view snowcapped mountains from upclose and an explore the various ethnicities of the region. Since its an underrated trek, the journey will be peaceful and quiet but may find the company of locals.
You'll be climbing your way through local villages, terraced farming, Bamboo & Rhododendron forests. The trek provides you a lot more local lifestyle experience along with the stay in the teahouses. You can enjoy the amazing sunrise and sunset view with the view of Mt. Annapurna and Dhaulagiri in the background. You'll have the chance to witness the rare species of Birds and beauty of the Rhododendron forest (especially in the spring).

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu
We welcome you at Tribhuwan International Airport. We drive to the Hotel and rest. After the rest, if time favors you explore the local markets and areas around. At the evening, welcome dinner with trip manager & introduction with tour & trek guide.
Day 2: Kathmandu City Tour
After breakfast, you go on a Kathmandu city tour including to the Heritages site (Swoyambhunath Stupa & Pashupatinath Temple). You can view the whole Kathmandu valley from the top of Swoyambhunath and witness the crematory center and the Nepali death rituals in Pashupatinath Temple. Our trek guide checks your trekking gear and preps you. We will prepare your trekking permit and other official documents.
Day 3: Drive or Fly to Pokara
You can either take 30 mins flight to Pokhara or 5-6 hours trip through bus or private car. The drive to Pokhara will be a scenic drive alongside the Trisuli River. If you choose the flight and are lucky with the weather, we may be able to view the panoramic view of the mountains. If time favors, you will be able to explore the markets alongside Phewa lake. There are various significant places like Gupteshwor Cave, David's Fall, White Stupa, Mountain Museum to visit.
Day 4: Drive to Nayapul & trek to Ghandruk (2012m)
It takes about 2 hours from Pokhara in a Private car to Nayapul, where we start off the walk. After frequent rest on the way, we reach Ghandruk. Ghandruk is a cultural village in the lap of nature. We can visit Old Gurung Museum and experience the local Gurung lifestyle. Overnight in Ghandruk.
Day 5: Ghandruk to Tadapani (2630m)
Leaving Ghandruk (the land of Gurkha People), we head towards Tadapani. Continue walking along the through rhododendron forests, to Bhaisi Kharka. We see a lot of trekking groups going on their journey like us. After a couple of hours walk, we reach Tadapani. You can view the beautiful sunrise from Tadapani. Overnight in Tadapani.
Day 6: Tadapani to Dobato (3426m)
Beautiful morning with a view of Mt.Annapurna. We head toward Dobato after breakfast. We now travel onto the less traveled trails, seeing few people on the way. The path wound up through a forest of rhododendron, bamboo, and pines. We climb hills and pass through Shrines and convoys of mules carrying produce up and down. We reach to Dobato. Day 7: Dobato to Chhistibang (3100m)
After breakfast, we set off at a steadier pace along small paths still in the forest and past a couple of isolated farmsteads. The route takes us up and down with a few sections of the newly renovated path. The tea house at Chhistibang is quite new with a pleasant sun terrace. Nightlong in Chhistibang.
Day 8: Chhistibang to Khopra (3660m)
We go up the hills all the way. We can witness the rare species of birds with the backdrop of spectacular views of Mt. Annapurna and Mt. Dhaulagiri. There are plenty of regular resting spots on these paths – purpose-built walls/seats which many people need at this altitude. Past through the abandoned shelters built for the grazing of sheep and Yaks, we reach at the tea house. Overnight stay in Khopra.
Day 9: Khopra to Paudwar (2000m)
Down the hills almost descended to 2000m we reach a different vegetation. You can see the terraced landscape of the farming. Paudwar is a lovely old village of tightly packed homes, steps, alleyways and gardens, people picking, threshing, carrying crops and wood. Nightlong in Paudwar.
Day 10: Paudwar to Tatopani (1185m)
We can go to Tatopani via transport facility in short time or we can take our time dwelling in the nature and walk. Tatopani is the very popular Annapurna circuit route, busy with vehicles and much more commercialized than any of our other stops. We can relax our muscles and joints after a long tiring trek in the hot-spring. Overnight stay in tatopani.
Day 11: Tatopani to Pokhara
We use the transport facility to Pokara. It takes about 4-5 hours. We rest and if time favours, we explore the local markets alongside Phewa Lake. Phokara also has many places to visit such as Devi's fall, White stupa, Mountain Museum etc. Overnight in Pokhara.
Day 12: Back to Kathmandu
After bearkfast, we leave Pokhara. We use the transport facility. In the evening, you'll have the farewell dinner with the trip manager and review our trip together.
Day 13: Airport departure or join another trip
