Overview

You’ll hike hills, you’ll explore places, you’ll meet people, and you’ll learn so many things that happen in and around Kathmandu. We present this special Horizon Hike Around Kathmandu, an exclusive Kathmandu Valley Tour by Sabbatical Explore Nepal.

Hand-made for especially culture and nature lovers, Horizon Hike Around Kathmandu Tour is a complete Kathmandu Valley Tour. Usually, you do not get to do that in a regular valley tour. You just get to visit the cultural and historical sites of the valley and finish the tour.

However, that is not the same case on this tour. As said at the start, you’ll do three things on this tour: hiking in the hills around Kathmandu, exploring the cultural heritage of Kathmandu Valley, and visiting different local communities. It is a worthwhile Kathmandu Valley Tour.

So it is an eight-day tour that starts with your arrival in Kathmandu. On the first day, you will take a rest. The real exploration starts the next day when we explore the UNESCO world cultural heritage sites of Kathmandu and Lalitpur.

After this, we’ll drive to Kakani, a favorite getaway near the valley. While in Kakani, we’ll perform day hikes for some excellent nature time. We will explore the area by watching mountains, landscapes, and woods.

Next, we’ll do a day hike to Nagi Monastery, which lies inside the woods of Shivapuri National Park. It will be a great day of hiking when we’ll catch views of mountains and forests. Also, we’ll meet and interact with the monks of the monastery.

From here, we’ll do a sweet trek to Chisapani through the forests of the National Park. At the end of the walk, we’ll enjoy some great mountain views from Chisapani.

The following day, we’ll do a popular trek around Kathmandu, Chisapani Nagarkot Trek. After hiking for 5-6 hours through the horizon hills around Kathmandu, we’ll reach Nagarkot, one of the Everest viewpoints. The day will conclude with a golden mountain view.

A breathtaking mountain panorama will make us open our eyes in the morning. We’ll watch distant views of peaks such as Mt Everest, Ganesh Himal, Langtang, Rolwaling, Jugal, Numbur, and more.

After this view and breakfast, we’ll drive down to Bhaktapur, an ancient town in Nepal. We will ramble like a local around the city to explore its art, history, people, and heritages. And this is how we’ll return to our hotels to finish the special Horizon Hike Around Kathmandu Tour, a new way of doing the Kathmandu Valley Tour.

We must tell you it is a great tour. The eight days spent on this tour will bring you many exciting things—more than what is written here.

If you want to do this tour or have any queries, we are always there to help you out.

I had an amazing experience with Sabbatical Explore Nepal when I visited Nepal during my Gap year 2018. Our guide and driver were so experienced and helpful. I remember seeing many animals like tigers, deers, rhinos during Jungle Safari in Chitwan. I even went to the Elephant Breeding Centre and that was amazing. In Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha I visited Maya Devi Temple and other monasteries. I was mesmerized by the architectural designs of the Temples and Monasteries built by different countries. I was a little sad that I couldn't visit other amazing places but the 6 days I spent in Nepal were very meaningful and memorable. I am looking forward to my next trip to Nepal.

The trip was well worth it! I was in Nepal last Autumn with the team of Shiva and Kiran, whom I knew from my colleagues. I was confused about where to go. But my expert friends, Shiva and Kiran, suggested I do their best-selling Nepal Panorama Tour. I'm glad they suggested it. I am not a hiking person, my body does not let me be. So I went on a tour of Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Chitwan. In Kathmandu, I saw a lot of historical and time-traveling sites. Pokhara was so much vivid by Fewa Lake; I enjoyed the boat riding there. And Chitwan was unimaginably full of nature. I saw rhinos, elephants, birds, crocodiles. I was expecting the Bengal Tiger, but luck did not favor me. Except for that, Chitwan treated me quite well. Overall, the trip felt so smooth and rewarding. I traveled around Nepal panoramically. Thanks!

I went to Upper Mustang Trek with them, which I can vividly remember even after 2 months now. I found out about this team from one of my friends. I'm glad he suggested it. Everything went well during the trek. The guide was so humble and good. He showed me things that I could never have if I was traveling solo. I feel a deep connection with the landscapes of Mustang. Thanks to the guide and the team. The trip was a great experience!
