The best time to do Gokyo Lake Trek Spring and Autumn, wisely avoid the winter and monsoon/summer season because of the extreme change whether the trail will be challenging and you will not enjoy the messy trek.

Best Season to trek Everest Gokyo Lake

The best time to do the Everest Gokyo Lake trek or any trekking routes in Nepal like Everest Base Camp, Annapurna Circuit, Annapurna Base Camp, Manaslu, is March to May the pre-monsoon season and late September to November the post-monsoon season. There is less chance of rainfalls and the colorful nature in this season is in full swing at this time.
The month of late November to February is the winter season in Nepal, this time the temperature will drop to freezing which means extreme cold at high altitude and it will be difficult to walk on the wet slippery and icy trail.

The month of late June to early September is Summer and Monsoon season in Nepal, this time the potential flight delays out of Lukla due to the frequent rainfall. Trekking along with the high humid, Frequent downpours and the wet trail is not a good idea though.
During this offseason, the trail will be isolated and it will be impossible to trek due to frequent rainfalls, high humid of monsoon and extreme cold of winter, if you really want to venture and want to dare with the challenging trail wisely prepare yourself with an extra layer of rain covers in Monsoon and for winter uplift some extra pairs of warm clothes and some climbing equipment.
The best of the best time to explore the glimpse of the Everest Gokyo Lake trek is Spring and Autumn season.

Difficulty Of Gokyo Lake Trek

Everest Gokyo Lake trek is considered as the challenging and strenuous trek in Nepal which means it is not as easy as  Annapurna Circuit Trek and Annapurna Base Camp Trek. The entire trek is spread out into 15 days of trekking, a distance of 92 km long from Lukla via Gokyo valley to Lukla. Per day the average walk will be 4-6 hours.
The trail is well managed and it doesn’t require any technical mountaineering skills. But it demands the inner Patience and well setup mind to complete it successfully.

The elevation is the next factor to consider as this route will probably lead you higher than you have been before (highest altitude is 5417m) and it is unpredictable how your physical will react until you try the Everest Gokyo Lake Trek. Last year the 7-year-old kid made the world Guinness record by being the youngest trekker to the Everest Base Camp.
So, To do this adventurous trek you don’t need to be super fit or already experienced just maintain a certain level of Physical Fitness as well as prepare your mind before doing this high altitude trek in Nepal. To develop stamina we recommend you do cardio, squats, hiking and running for months.

Accommodation and Meal during Gokyo Lake Trek

The Everest Region trail is marked with a local Teahouse and Lodge, where every trekker spends the night. There are varieties of Lodges like Budget to Luxury, we would like to recommend you to experience both luxury and local lodge/ teahouse during this adventurous journey because it is once in a lifetime journey, so why not to make it a Best memory. The normal Teahouse offers a room with 2 single beds and blankets, it’s better if you have your own sleeping bag to keep you extra warm.

The food during the trek is very good but most of the time you will have carbs in your lunch and dinner (Dal Bhat TarCurry- Lentil Rice Curry) which is also very good during the strenuous trek. In every tea house, they have an extensive menu of Food and you can order as per your choice. The most amazing thing is don’t forget to try the bakery items of the Everest region.
