Travel safe, fun, meaningful and unforgettable
Monks live a simple spiritual life to achieve “Nirvana” or peace of mind. And, Shamans are religious practitioners who can heal people through sacred practices. Getting to know two distinct kinds of masters is a new experience on its own. That is what this hand-made tour by Sabbatical Explore Nepal wants to offer.
The tour begins with a sightseeing trip to the UNESCO cultural and historical sites of Kathmandu, Patan, and Bhaktapur, the three pieces of Kathmandu Valley. Out from the valley, the journey reaches a village of Shamans called Jhakri or Shamans Village. You will live in the community like the locals by enjoying the traditional lifestyle, practicing shamanism, celebrating their rituals along with greenery and panoramic view of the Himalayas.
After that, the tour guides you to a Buddhist monastery to live with the monks there. A full day will be there to experience the lifestyle of monks and know their wisdom.
As you leave the monastery, you will have nothing but peace and good vibes to take along. Taking lots of learnings and experience, you will return to Kathmandu to depart. And this is how the 10 days long Meet the Monks and Shamans tour gets done.
In brief, Meet The Monks and Shamans is an experiential tour through which one experiences a peaceful way of living and a religious healing method. Alongside, the tour enables one to traverse rich Nepalese art and culture heritages distributed across Kathmandu Valley. Therefore, multiple reasons make Nepal popular across the globe.
The trip was well worth it! I was in Nepal last Autumn with the team of Shiva and Kiran, whom I knew from my colleagues. I was confused about where to go. But my expert friends, Shiva and Kiran, suggested I do their best-selling Nepal Panorama Tour. I'm glad they suggested it. I am not a hiking person, my body does not let me be. So I went on a tour of Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Chitwan. In Kathmandu, I saw a lot of historical and time-traveling sites. Pokhara was so much vivid by Fewa Lake; I enjoyed the boat riding there. And Chitwan was unimaginably full of nature. I saw rhinos, elephants, birds, crocodiles. I was expecting the Bengal Tiger, but luck did not favor me. Except for that, Chitwan treated me quite well. Overall, the trip felt so smooth and rewarding. I traveled around Nepal panoramically. Thanks!

I went to Upper Mustang Trek with them, which I can vividly remember even after 2 months now. I found out about this team from one of my friends. I'm glad he suggested it. Everything went well during the trek. The guide was so humble and good. He showed me things that I could never have if I was traveling solo. I feel a deep connection with the landscapes of Mustang. Thanks to the guide and the team. The trip was a great experience!
