Jiri to Everest Base Camp Trek or The Classic Everest Base Camp Trek is one of the adored treks in Nepal. It is the same trail used by Tenzing Sherpa and Edmund Hillary, the early pioneers of Mt Everest, in the 1950s. The classic route starts from Jiri, a place located 190 km away from Kathmandu. Jiri itself is known as the Switzerland of Nepal for its natural richness. Following the footsteps of the pioneers from Jiri, trekkers enter the Everest Region. The Classic Everest Base Camp Trek adjoins the regular Everest Base Camp Trek from Lukla. One doing this classic adventure has to take many steep ups, rapid downs, and high altitudes. There will be hard and long trekking days too. We will walk for around 5 to 6 hrs today. We will pass via several Sherpa Villages from the river banks to finally arrive in Khari Khola village. Overnight in the village.
Today, we will begin the trek by crossing a suspension bridge and joining a steep trail. The walk will go through the loaded Pine trees. While on our way, we will also come across several birds and animals. Next, we will have a short break at Paiya Village, a sherpa community. And finally, we will reach Surkhe for the night.
Now, we will leave Surkhe behind too. The early hours of the morning will be spent following the sides of Dudh Koshi River. We will love the feeling of the place. From there, we will land up in Chaurikharka, a large village. We will have some rest before continuing the rest of the day’s trek. Then, we will leave for Everest Base Camp without any load to carry. Once we reach the base camp, we will achieve the feat and celebrate by looking at the ice-loaded mountains, including Lhotse, Lingtren, Nuptse, etc. After the successful ascent of Everest Base Camp, we will return to Gorak Shep for the night.

Therefore, multiple reasons make Nepal popular across the globe.
We have just finished the Annapurna Base Camp trek with Sabbatical Explore Nepal. Our guide Shiva and Samir were excellent, very friendly young men with good English. The looked after us very well, staying with us and supporting us as we trekked, and making sure our meals and accommodation were sorted each day. Shiva and Samir were very knowledgeable about the mountains, the areas we visited and Nepal in general. It was lovely to share stories with them, and I’m sure they will make excellent guides as well.

I had an amazing experience with Sabbatical Explore Nepal when I visited Nepal during my Gap year 2018. Our guide and driver were so experienced and helpful. I remember seeing many animals like tigers, deers, rhinos during Jungle Safari in Chitwan. I even went to the Elephant Breeding Centre and that was amazing. In Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha I visited Maya Devi Temple and other monasteries. I was mesmerized by the architectural designs of the Temples and Monasteries built by different countries. I was a little sad that I couldn't visit other amazing places but the 6 days I spent in Nepal were very meaningful and memorable. I am looking forward to my next trip to Nepal.

The trip was well worth it! I was in Nepal last Autumn with the team of Shiva and Kiran, whom I knew from my colleagues. I was confused about where to go. But my expert friends, Shiva and Kiran, suggested I do their best-selling Nepal Panorama Tour. I'm glad they suggested it. I am not a hiking person, my body does not let me be. So I went on a tour of Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Chitwan. In Kathmandu, I saw a lot of historical and time-traveling sites. Pokhara was so much vivid by Fewa Lake; I enjoyed the boat riding there. And Chitwan was unimaginably full of nature. I saw rhinos, elephants, birds, crocodiles. I was expecting the Bengal Tiger, but luck did not favor me. Except for that, Chitwan treated me quite well. Overall, the trip felt so smooth and rewarding. I traveled around Nepal panoramically. Thanks!
