Travel safe, fun, meaningful and unforgettable
Do you enjoy being in woods, surrounded by nothing but trees, birds, and animals? If you want to go somewhere similar, you can do Chitwan Jungle Safari in Nepal.
As its name says, Chitwan Jungle Safari Tour happens in Chitwan National Park, the oldest national park in the country. With 367 sq mi, the national park resides 97 km away from Kathmandu in the dense plainlands and inner lowlands of the south-central part of Nepal and touches four districts: Chitwan, Nawalpur, Parsa, and Makwanpur.
Generally, the park is well-known for its encounters with One-horned Rhinos and Bengal Tigers. Altogether over 700 wildlife species live in the woods of this national park, including crocodiles, sloth bears, leopard cats, golden jackals, hog deers, and many more. Likewise, the dense woods of sal species trees inside Chitwan National Park is a nest of over 543 bird species. Some of the common birds of the park are Spotted Eagle, Kingfishers, Egrets, Stork, Peafowl, Brahminy ducks, and others.
Thus, Chitwan Jungle Safari Tour is a full-on trip for wildlife lovers. You’ll not only view the varied vegetation and wildlife of the site. From the famous elephant safari, bird watching, lake walks, jungle walks, elephant bathing, sunset watching, boat riding, and jeep safaris, you’ll also do all these multiple things here on this jungle trip. As a bonus, you can also learn about the Tharu ethnic-the locals of the region and their culture.
This particular Chitwan jungle safari itinerary is a three days long program that starts and ends in Kathmandu. But you can select other longer itineraries of the Chitwan Jungle Safari Tour or add other trips along with this tour or even customize it.
All you require to perform is to remember us. We’ll offer the best plan as per your need and wish.
Day 1: Drive from Kathmandu to Chitwan(815m)
Day 2: Activities in Chitwan National Park
Day 3: Activities and Drive back to Kathmandu
The journey to Chitwan Jungle Safari Tour begins with a 4-5 hour bus ride from Kathmandu. It will be a pleasant journey along the Prithivi Highway, which is lush and twisty. Later we will reach Chitwan, where we will set up in a hotel for a rest after the drive. We'll go for an evening stroll around the Rapti River's riverbed once our bodies have been refreshed. We will also watch a lovely sunset view from the view tower on the shore of the river. Following that, the local Tharu ethnic people will put on a cultural display, primarily a dance performance, for us. The first day will come to a conclusion at this point, and we will return to the hotel for the night.
After breakfast, we’ll start doing activities on the Chitwan Jungle Safari Tour one by one. Firstly, we’ll start with a canoe ride on a wooden boat on the Rapti River, which goes along the peaceful national park. During the whole process, we’ll see various rare birds and several species of crocodiles. Next, we’ll return to our hotel for lunch before doing an elephant safari deep in the woods. The Elephant Safari will be the opportunity to observe the enriched flora and fauna of the region. If lucky, we will also see the king of the jungle, the Bengal Tiger. We'll have an elephant bath at the end of the elephant safari, only if you wish. This will be followed by visits to the Elephant and Crocodile Breeding Centers. We’ll return to our hotel for dinner and the night’s sleep.
On the last day of Chitwan Jungle Safari, we will have a morning visit to Beeshazari Lake(20 Thousand Lake), a perfect place for bird watching. We’ll spend some peaceful time by the lake before going back to the hotel for breakfast. After breakfast, we’ll prepare to leave Chitwan. The following 4-5 hours of a bus drive through the same highway will bring us to Kathmandu. And the Chitwan Jungle Safari Tour will conclude when we return to our hotel in Kathmandu.

The trip was well worth it! I was in Nepal last Autumn with the team of Shiva and Kiran, whom I knew from my colleagues. I was confused about where to go. But my expert friends, Shiva and Kiran, suggested I do their best-selling Nepal Panorama Tour. I'm glad they suggested it. I am not a hiking person, my body does not let me be. So I went on a tour of Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Chitwan. In Kathmandu, I saw a lot of historical and time-traveling sites. Pokhara was so much vivid by Fewa Lake; I enjoyed the boat riding there. And Chitwan was unimaginably full of nature. I saw rhinos, elephants, birds, crocodiles. I was expecting the Bengal Tiger, but luck did not favor me. Except for that, Chitwan treated me quite well. Overall, the trip felt so smooth and rewarding. I traveled around Nepal panoramically. Thanks!

I had an amazing experience with Sabbatical Explore Nepal when I visited Nepal during my Gap year 2018. Our guide and driver were so experienced and helpful. I remember seeing many animals like tigers, deers, rhinos during Jungle Safari in Chitwan. I even went to the Elephant Breeding Centre and that was amazing. In Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha I visited Maya Devi Temple and other monasteries. I was mesmerized by the architectural designs of the Temples and Monasteries built by different countries. I was a little sad that I couldn't visit other amazing places but the 6 days I spent in Nepal were very meaningful and memorable. I am looking forward to my next trip to Nepal.

We recently made trip to Nepal. Shiva from Sabbatical Explore Nepal helped us finalizing trekking itinerary. It was a great trek to Langtang Region. We started it from Syafru Beshi and Gatlang and made very interesting and impressive Tamang Heritage trails. Completing Tamang Heritage trek, we reached to Lama Hotel through Thuman, Bhridim, Nagthali and Surka. We all enjoyed our time in Langtang Valley, Kenjing Gomba, Kenjing Ri, and Tsergo Ri. Our Porter and Guide were good & kind. They did the best care of us on trek and we already miss them.
