With a fascinating view of the Himalayas from your window, you will land at Kathmandu Airport. Our team will greet you at the airport and will take you to your hotel in Kathmandu. You will freshen up at the hotel by taking a rest. In the evening, you will join us for a welcome dinner and trek briefing. Overnight in the hotel.
We’ll have a free day for the valley’s tour and trek arrangement before the trip starts. On this day, you’ll visit several cultural heritage sites inside Kathmandu and Patan. Swyambhunath Stupa, Boudhanath Stupa, Basantapur Durbar Square, and Patan Durbar Square are the tick-list for the day. While exploring these heritage sites for architecture and cultural exposure, our team will make all the arrangements for the Langtang Valley and Gosaikunda Trek. Overnight in Kathmandu’s hotel.
Now, we are all set to hit the road to Dhunche to begin the trip. We will head north towards the destination through Pasang Lhamu Highway, a scenic highway. It will be an adventurous ride of 8 hours. Upon reaching Dhunche, we will do a check in one of the teahouses in the hamlet. All tired, you will go to bed after exploring the surrounding area. Overnight in Dhunche.
The trek begins from here. We will set our feet on the trail after breakfast in our teahouse. We will cross the Bhote Koshi River to join a forested trail to leave Syabrubesi behind. Along the way, we’ll hear birds singing and trees dancing. We will finally arrive at the Lama Hotel through the forest, enjoying the serenity, a small place with several hotels and lodges by the forest. Overnight in Lama Hotel.
Today, we’ll enter the Langtang Valley. Within some distance of Lama Hotel, we’ll come across a magnificent panorama of Langtang’s mountains. Cherishing the view, we will head towards Langtang Village, a village badly hit by the 2015 Earthquake. Before that, we will cross places like Ghoda Tabela, Gumanechok, and several unnamed pasturelands. The six hours of walking through a heavenly trail will finally lead us to Langtang Village for the night.
After a lovely evening in Langtang Village, we will follow a path to Kyanjin. It will not be a hard trekking day. You’ll traverse via the plain yak pastures and small hamlets. Some moraines, water streams, and plenty of mountain vistas will also come along on the day. We’ll reach Kyanjin early, and we will use that time to discover the settlements for Buddhist Gompas and monasteries. Overnight in Kyanjin.
Tsergo Ri (5,033/4985m), a major pass to view amazing views of the Langtang Region mountains, will be the place to reach today. We will hike to the top from Kyanjin Gompa. It will be a challenging but worthy hike. We will see most of the peaks like Langtang Lirung, Gyanghempo, Ganjala Peak, and Langshisha Ri. Next, we will descend back to explore the remaining Kyanjin Gompa area. Overnight in Kyanjin Gompa.
Now we turn back to Lama Hotel to be on the path to Gosaikunda Lake. We will retrace the same track to Lama Hotel. It will be an easy part of Langtang Valley and Gosaikunda Lake Trek. Reviewing the same views, we will arrive at Lama Hotel for the night.
Rejoining the trail, we will pave our road to Syabru Gaon, a scenic village for mountain views. The trek will mostly happen through the woods. We may see some of the wild animals around the trail. Before reaching the village, we will have to climb a steep hill. Our tiredness throughout the day will be released once we see houses of the settlement and a view of the mountains. Overnight in Syabru Gaon.
Eating breakfast in Syabru Goan, we leave for Shin Gompa by joining a steep trail leading to a jungle full of rhododendrons and oak. Eventually, we will climb Foprang Danda to enjoy just another mountain view. From the top, we will continue our trek to pass by some old monasteries and Tamang villages. It will be a walk through the trail Tamang Heritage Trek. By the end of the 4 hours trek, we will finally be in Shin Gompa.
It is an important day in Langtang Valley with Gosaikunda Lake. To start the day, we will leave the vicinity of Shin Gompa by joining the woods of Rhododendron. We will walk across the high ridges of the region by enjoying gorgeous scenery. We will also pass via Laurebina Pass but only by experiencing the Himalayas from the pass. Before we arrive at Gosaikunda Lake, we will see two other small lakes. These lakes, including Gosaikunda, are sacred in Nepal for both Hindu and Buddhist pilgrimages. Upon our arrival in the lake, we will explore the corners of the holy lake. We will spend the night a little away from the lake.
Crossing the Laurebina Pass once again, we will leave Gosaikunda Lake behind. Before that, we will have a special morning by the lake. On our way to Ghopte, we’ll also enter the Helambu Region, another major highlight of Langtang Valley and Gosaikunda Trek. We will walk for around 6 to 7 hours throughout the day via high ridges, then jungles to ultimately reach Ghopte for the night.
The trek from Ghopte to Tharepati is short but slightly demanding. We will have to do several uphill and downhill walks over a rough and rocky trail. In between, we will also cross a dense forest to reach Tharepati, a famous village of Helambu Village Trek. It will take around 3-4 hrs to get to Tharepati. We will enjoy a broad and complete view of Jugal Himal, Langtang Himal, and other peaks. Overnight in Tharepati.
With a graceful sunrise view, we will wake up to continue the trek to Kutumsang. The hike will start with a descent to a forest spread on a ridge. Walking through that trail, we will reach Maghinagoth, a shepherd’s village. From Maghinagoth, we will again view the same mountains but from a different angle. Overnight in Kutumsang.
Waking up in the village of terrace fields, we will have breakfast in front of a lovely sunrise. Then we will continue our trek by ascending Jogin Danda Ridge and descending to Gul Bhajyang. It will be a long trekking day where we will cross several moraines. Conclusively, you will drop from a hill to end comfortably at Chisapani.
Chisapani is one of the renowned hill stations near Kathmandu. We will leave the place by descending into a deep forest and reaching Mulkharka. Next, the trail will keep on dropping towards Sundarijal. We will also walk through the forest of Shivapuri National Park. From Sundarijal, we will have a drive of 1 hour to Kathmandu. We will take some rest after the completion of Langtang Valley, Gosaikunda, and Helambu Lodge Trek.
The next day, we will offer you a hotel transfer to the airport for your departure. And it will be an official farewell from Nepal until next time.

We had a great time with Shiva and his team, from being picked up from the airport to being dropped off there, everything was just perfect! We had "culture tour and a trip to Shaman Village" Hiking. Got to see many cultural sites around Kathmandu and was an incredible experience in monastery visiting monks. The program was great and fantastic as far as we wanted away from the tourist crowds, all accommodations were good. It’s really a great opportunity to explore Nepal as local.
The “TeamSabbatical” were very helpful and friendly as well. When we have a questions or a problem can find someone on the spot immediately to find a answer and solve it. We highly recommend the trip Meet the Monks with Boudhanath Stupa tour, and the Kathmandu Cultural tour together.

Sabbatical Explore Nepal's team planned this excursion, which went excellent and was exceptionally well planned. We had the best guide on this trip who was friendly, humorous, and professional. He made us feel easy throughout the excursion. He was always there to explain the new things of the journey from the unique hanging bridges to the rapid Dudh Koshi River. The entire team for the journey was great. I can say the trip to Everest Base Camp is a trip for my lifetime. Thanks a lot to the entire team of Sabbatical!
